Course: Pharmacy MPharm
Level: Third year
Hometown: Hythe
Other information: I came to Kingston University after studying at college. I have dyslexia. I am currently a member of the Pharmacy society, the Dance club and the Cheerleading club. I do a placement with Boots pharmacy as part of my course. I am a Kingston University student ambassador.
I chose Kingston because... I did not reach my expected grades for A-level and Kingston offered me my current course of study instead. I looked around at what other unis were offering through clearing and I felt that Kingston's offer was the best choice for me.
I have got to where I am now... because I was influenced by both my parents who hoped I would go to uni, and I had always thought that is what I would be doing when I was 18. So I was quite shocked when I did not achieve my expected grades for A-level. Luckily I was aware of the clearing process and overcame this barrier of grades by finding a course at Kingston that suited me.
My plans for the future are... to work in a hospital lab, and my dream is to be able to do this anywhere in the world I choose.
Is one source better then another?

Get a good calendar with lots of space on it, so you can easily see what is coming up and you can make the most of your time by fitting in as much as possible, and not forgetting the important things like deadlines!!!!
I looked forward to living fully independently and meeting people from all sorts of different backgrounds. I looked forward to the various different teaching and assessment styles used at university and hoped that I could reach closer to my potential than I had at college.
My friends, especially my flatmate Alim, they keep me sane in times of hard work, stress and homesickness. In the same way, I couldn't live without my Dad's teddy which I brought with me as it makes my room feel like home.
I also couldn't live without the extracurricular activities I am involved in, from dance rehearsals to hanging out with my flatmates because it is vital for me get uni off my mind from time to time and also to remember to stay physically active.
"I decided to come to uni because I wanted to join in this ‘uni experience' I have heard so much about, and I was ready to explore a new place and to live independently."
"Planning is fun, but don't get carried away! By now you should know what finances you'll have whilst at uni so budget accordingly, i.e. sensibly!"
"I chose to come to uni because I wanted a career in science and I wanted to learn more than what I had covered at A-Level. For me, a degree in science is a great place to start."
