Other information: I came to Kingston University after studying at college. I undertook a placement (sandwich course) in third year working full time as a QA tester in central London. I am a member of the LGBT society.

I chose Kingston because... it has a fantastic location. Being where it is has all the benefits of London with very little of the down sides. Great for those who want a London life with less of the hassle.

I have got to where I am now... I was the first in my family to go to university and so had no idea about how it worked, student loans, how to apply. My college was able to provide me with all the information needed and help me along the way.

My plans for the future are... to work in Central London gaining more experience in my field of interest, then just seeing where life takes me.

More about me

What are your interests?

Big interest in gaming, either online or console as well as being really into anime and manga (typical geek lol). Other than that you have the usual stuff of reading, going out and generally just enjoying life.

Name one thing you looked forward to before joining university?

Moving out and having my own space. Couldn't wait to gain some more independence and start living the next stage of my life.

What is your top tip for university?

Take every opportunity to go out and meet new people. The more you go out, society events, uni events, celebrations etc. The more people you'll meet and the more lifelong friends you'll have. You'll get to do a great deal more new things and will just make your time at university that much more enjoyable.

My quotes

"It was a relief to find out I got into university – after that it was a mix of nerves, anticipation and excitement, I couldn't wait to be going but at the same time such a big change was kinda scary."

"There are pros and cons in going to university, you have to consider them all to decide if higher education is the right path for you. Keep in mind that you don't only go to university for a degree, there's a great deal of life lessons learnt and friends made along the way that will help balance out the negatives."

"You want to make sure you get all the applications and paperwork out of the way so you can focus on your upcoming deadlines. Do them as soon as possible to make sure they're all sorted and you can then work on getting the grades you need."
