Other information: I came to university after working part time and studying. I have dyslexia. I am a Kingston University student ambassador which I enjoy a lot. I am on the Compact Scheme.

I chose Kingston because... it was near to me, and easy to get to. It had the course that I wanted to do.

I got to where I am now... after school I went straight to college to do my NVQs in Catering. I was also doing an evening course called A Plus. After completing my catering course I went into a course called OCR IT Practitioners Level 2. During this course I was working at a computer shop as well, which helped me develop my skills and my technician skills. I was also offered a part-time job as a IT technician while studying at the college. After completing the course I was asked to work full-time at the college and also did a little bit of teaching. The person who influenced me was someone called Guiti, she was always there to support and give me advice and push me to do things that I have not done before. After working at the college for five years, it was time for me to move on to do my degree at Kingston.

My plans for the future are... to go and do my PGCE in teaching which I am hoping to go back and do because I have missed it a lot – having a laugh with the students and helping them to develop themselves for what they want to do in the future.

Hello there! My name is Paul and this is my first blog. I've been so busy with my new business whic...

More about me

What are your interests?

Cycle, keeping Fit, computers, going out to see my friends and to see the latest films.

What is your top tip for university?

My top tip is that you need to attend all the lectures so that you do not miss any work or important info that the teacher is saying. So attend all your lectures!

Describe a typical day at uni

My typical day at uni is going to all the lectures and workshops that I have on that day. After that I go to the LRC to finish off any assignments that I may have to do and meet up with some of my friends for lunch.

My quotes

"My mum and dad did support me when I decided to start university; they said "go for it". So I made a phone call to Kingston and I had to go and have an interview with a member of staff about the course and what was involved. I had to do a foundation year at Kingston College. He told me that I had to apply through UCAS and Clearing, which I found very useful when I applied to Kingston."

"It is very important that you think what you are going to study, because you are borrowing a lot of money to invest for your future. So think and make sure you know what you are going to study."

"The way that I handled getting ready for uni was that I applied for student finance at an early stage and tried to get everything ready before uni started in September. So I suggest that you make sure that you get everything ready."
