The Department of Critical and Historical Studies offers two courses with Art History. Fine Art & Art History will help you realise your creative potential in fine art and develops skills to understand contemporary art. You will explore traditional forms of painting and sculpture with new forms such as film and digital printmaking. You'll also develop visual analysis skills and historical knowledge by exploring a range of images, texts and objects. Art and Design History and Practice combines academic learning with creative activities such as curating exhibitions, creating digital and print publications, film making and writing blogs. You'll have access to our impressive workshops (including photography, digital media, 3D and printmaking technologies) and the opportunity to build a creative portfolio if you wish. The course prepares you for a range of creative careers.
