This module provides a critical overview of recent British cinema. It explores:
- how British cinema has interpreted, reflected and contributed to social change in British society between 1960 and 1990; and
- the critical interaction of British and foreign cinemas during this period.
You will both look at case studies of individual directors and undertake more general study of:
- studio policies;
- representative films;
- genres and filmmaking movements; and
- critical and audience reception.
