Scholarships
Kingston University provides additional financial support to eligible students through the National Scholarship Programme and our new Kingston Scholarship Scheme.
Please note:
- We have a limited amount of money for both the National Scholarship and the Kingston Scholarship.
- Meeting the eligibility criteria does not give an entitlement to a scholarship.
- If you are awarded a scholarship from the National Scholarship Programme you will not also be eligible for the Kingston Scholarship Scheme. You may only receive one of these awards.
- Applications for both scholarships are now open. Please note that you need to have selected Kingston as Firm in order to apply.
Package of support
In order to apply for either the National or Kingston Scholarship you must have registered for the Compact Scheme. In addition to the financial support, the Compact Scheme offers you access to an exclusive package of support including:
- a single point of contact for information, advice and guidance throughout the application process, enrolment and once you are on course;
- course preparation activities, such as the Head Start Summer School;
- online resources to help you make the right course choice and support you throughout the application process;
- an invitation to our pre-enrolment welcome and induction event for new Compact Scheme students (Fast Forward);
- financial support for 'Home' fee status local authority care leaver students and those placed in foyer accommodation; and
- exclusive access to employability advice and guidance and email alerts to extracurricular employment and/or experience schemes.
There is an expectation that scholarship students engage in a range of events such as the Head Start Summer School which will give you the chance to meet current students and both teaching and support staff. The event offers a range of advice and information sessions as well as introducing you to the social aspects of university life.
Head Start is completely free and you will be able to book onto one of two events held on 10–12 July or 1–3 August, one of which has a residential option. All successful Compact Scheme applicants will be sent further information about the Head Start Summer School in May 2012.
