Penrhyn Road
Learning Resources Centre
As well as library services, the Learning Resources Centre (or LRC) at Penrhyn Road houses study spaces and drop-in PC areas.
During term time, students have 24-hour access to databases and electronic resources, video/DVD playback facilities, and newspapers, magazines and journals.
The LRC holds an extensive collection of books for the subject areas based at Penrhyn Road. Its most prestigious archives include:
- the Iris Murdoch Collections – correspondence between the author and her friends, her Oxford and London libraries, and Peter Conradi’s research papers;
- the Vane Ivanovic Library – relating to the history and politics of the Baltics; and
- the Sheridan Morley Collection – the renowned theatre critic's books and papers.
Help and information is on hand for students with disabilities or special needs. The LRC's Access Technology Room provides:
- specialist enabling software and equipment;
- height adjustable study tables; and
- caption decoding devices for video/DVD playback with subtitles.
