GIS Starter Kit

UNDER CONSTRUCTION AT PRESENT.  The GIS Starter Kit will provide teachers with an ideal resource to get started with GIS.  It will include a powerful GIS software product, sample datasets, exercises suitable for use with Geography students and comprehensive supporting documentation.

GIS Factsheet

This summarises the principal suppliers of GIS data and software suitable for educational purposes.

Introductory exercise

An exercise to introduce the principles associated with GIS applied to optimum site location.  The exercise is available as an on-line demonstration and as a paper-based exercise (under construction).

GIS INSET events

INSET course for teachers are a key element of the programme to support teaching and learning with GIS developed by the Kingston Centre for GIS.   One day workshop style events take place in Kingston at regular intervals to provide teachers with knowledge and skills in GIS concepts and applications.  For details of forthcoming events, please click here.
