Mr Joel Coll Ferrer

I am Joel Coll Ferrer, and my academic journey has been deeply rooted in the fields of psychology and health psychology. I have always been captivated by the intricate workings of the human mind and the impact it has on our well-being. This fascination led me to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, followed by a Master's degree in Health Psychology, both of which have provided me with a solid foundation for my career.

During my early professional years, I had the privilege to work as a research assistant at University College London, where I actively participated in a project aimed at creating valuable resources to address body image problems among young adults with cancer. This experience allowed me to witness the impact that psychological well-being has on physical health and inspired me to delve deeper into the field of health psychology.

I currently hold the position of Research Associate at Kingston University, where I am passionately engaged in a study that investigates the retention of community nurses in the UK. This role offers a unique opportunity to explore the intersection of health policy and its practical implementation, a subject that has always piqued my curiosity. I believe that understanding how health policy translates into real-world practice is vital for improving healthcare systems and patient outcomes.

My research interests are mainly but not limited in behaviour change, health promotion, health policy in healthcare, and health & social care workforce (exploring and addressing issues on the retention of NHS staff members).
