I'm writing to get in touch following last week's UK Government announcement about the closure of all schools and colleges and the cancellation of examinations, and Monday's announcement by the Prime Minister about further measures to slow the spread of coronavirus. We know you might be worried about what these changes mean for you and your ambition of going to university.
You can rest assured that everyone at Kingston University London is committed to supporting you to move on successfully to higher education study. We are continuing to monitor the developing situation and are working closely with the UK Government, UCAS and exam boards to ensure you get the best possible outcome.
From today our university buildings are closed, but all our essential services, including admissions, have already switched to online working. That means we are still processing applications as normal and able to answer phone calls and emails. Our response times might sometimes be a little longer than usual, but we hope to continue a full service for you.
In these exceptional times, we will continue to support all our applicants in whatever way we can.
If you are holding a conditional offer from us, please be assured that we have a robust process in place to consider any student who does not meet the conditions of their offer. No applicant will be automatically unsuccessful, as we base our selection on a careful review of applications. Where we feel applicants have demonstrated the potential to succeed at Kingston University, we will confirm acceptance when results are published.
If you have received an unconditional offer from us, we will continue to honour the offer as set out in your offer letter.
Our admissions team is available to assist you with any queries you have regarding your application. You can contact us on SRTeam@kingston.ac.uk or 0203 308 9932.
We wish you and your loved ones well in these uncertain times and please do get in contact if you are worried or have any other questions. Our recruitment teams will continue to post regular updates in our 2020 entry Facebook group, open to Kingston University applicants only, including some innovative ideas for students preparing to come to university this autumn. Do join us by following this link. You'll be asked to answer three mandatory questions when you ask to join, which will ensure we can accept you into the group as quickly as possible.
