Information for our visitors

Our campuses and facilities are open and we are continuing to follow government guidance, as we have throughout the pandemic.

We expect members of our University community and anyone visiting our campuses to act responsibly and continue to support each other as we all adjust to government restrictions being eased.

Safety measures on campus

A number of measures are in place to keep our campuses and other sites as safe as possible. These include increased cleaning, improved ventilation and a number of hand sanitising stations located in all our buildings. We expect face coverings to be worn in all indoor spaces and they must be worn on the University's inter-site bus.

We are asking all staff, students and visitors to continue to be considerate when sharing space on campus. Screens at reception desks, student offices and library desks will remain in place and we are encouraging all building users to continue to use the NHS QR codes on campus for track and trace purposes.

Cleaning and sanitising

All buildings have advanced cleaning and sanitising routines, with all high-risk areas treated with sanitising chemicals on a daily basis. In addition, we have:

  • Reinforced cleaning, handwashing and hygiene procedures.
  • Fixed sanitiser points available at all building entrances.
  • Enhanced ventilation, to improve air flow and air quality.
  • Implemented more regular cleaning of high touch point areas.
  • Installed protective screens at reception desks, student offices and library desks.

We are grateful for everyone's support in keeping Kingston University a safe space for all our community.

The University in the community

We have been working closely with public health officials, the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames and other local organisations throughout the pandemic. We will continue to take a coordinated approach as the situation evolves.

Community pledge

The University is committed to behaving responsibly and will ensure it does everything possible to help minimise the spread of Covid-19. We are asking everyone on campus to follow the precautions we have put in place to help create a safe space for us all, in both Kingston and surrounding areas.

Our community pledge, drawn up with support from the Union of Kingston Students, asks all staff and students to commit to behaving in a way that reflects our University values, in particular, taking responsibility for their own wellbeing and being respectful and considerate of others. The measures we have implemented call on all of us to work together and share responsibility for reducing the spread of the infection.

More information

The changing nature of the coronavirus pandemic means we may still be subject to alterations to the latest advice and guidance. We will continue to closely monitor developments and take necessary action in line with the latest government advice, along with guidance from Public Health England (PHE), NHS England and our partners across the wider borough.

We will keep all our students, staff and external partners fully informed should any of the arrangements currently in place change.
