British artist and photographic pioneer Eadweard Muybridge returned to his hometown of Kingston upon Thames for the last decade of his life until his death in 1904. This symposium presented by Kingston University in partnership with Kingston Museum & Art Gallery, will focus on Muybridge's work and preoccupations in Kingston from 1894 to 1904
The event will present new research from experts in the field drawing directly upon his personal archive of documents, projection devices and slides, bequeathed to Kingston Museum by Muybridge himself. It will also examine the immense technological, cultural, artistic and urban transformation experienced in Kingston during this decade.
