This talk foregrounds the resonances and affinities between Deleuze's thought and the Zen sensibility, partly for the sake of mutual illumination, partly to articulate ethics. The key terms to be highlighted include vitalism, flow, haecceity, decodification, mediator, zone of proximity, lines of flight, becoming imperceptible, nonduality, speed and slowness, assemblage and nonattachment, tranquility of the mind, and pragmatics.
