TheTriumphs of Oriana was compiled in honour of Queen Elizabeth 1. Handel's anthems adorned the Coronation of George II as did Parry's that of Edward VII. A Garland for the Queen and Britten's opera on the life of Elizabeth I celebrated the Queen's accession in 1952. Walton wrote marches for the coronations of both George VI and Elizabeth II.
