Kingston Innovation Network - Financial help for businesses

The newly launched Kingston Innovation Network is providing businesses, organisations and entrepreneurs in the Kingston area vital support and information to encourage business survival and growth, and facilitate collaboration and innovation.

This first session of 2021 will focus on helping businesses understand and access the financial support available, including traditional routes of support and new programmes available.

Practical information on various grants, loans and funding schemes will be outlined, including:

In addition, Kingston Council will provide useful information about grants and a potential new fund to help businesses recover, innovate and adapt.

The panel will also help businesses assess when is the right time to apply for financial support, consider the opportunities and flexibility it might offer in terms of business stability and growth, and weigh up any risks.

Our expert panel members and speakers include:

  • Chair - Peter Quilter, Non-Executive Director, Surrey Chambers of Commerce & former Director of Corporate & Commercial Banking, NatWest
  • David Woods, Regional Manager, British Business Bank 
  • Lee Brenard, Managing Director of Asset Funder, local finance brokerage (CBILS loans & asset finance accredited)
  • Dr John Pereira, Senior Lecturer in Finance, Kingston Business School, Kingston University
  • Sean Gillen, Economic Development and Partnerships Lead, Kingston Council
