Time: 7.00pm - 8.00pm
The Iris Murdoch Archives in Kingston University's Special Collections are now a world-class resource on one of the most revered British novelists of the twentieth century. The acquisition of 270 letters from Murdoch to her friend, the philosopher Philippa Foot, catalogues a friendship that endured estrangement and heartache, yet lasted sixty years. The following events are connected with the project, 'Iris Murdoch and Philippa Foot: an Arc of Friendship', supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund and run by the Centre for Iris Murdoch Studies at Kingston University.
Speakers: Dr Anne Rowe (director of the Centre for Iris Murdoch Studies, Kingston University) and Professor Avril Horner (professor emeritus, Kingston University) - editors of Living on Paper: Letters from Iris Murdoch: 1945-1995 (forthcoming 2015)
Date: Thursday 23 May 7pm
Venue: Kingston Museum Gallery
