Kingston Green Fair

In 1987 the first Green Fair was held in Canbury Gardens in Kingston, overlooking the River Thames. It attracted hundreds of environmentally minded people, and promoted and celebrated green thinking. From the perspective of today, it seems a totally understandable and natural thing to do, but 25 years ago very few people were paying attention to the need for environmental sustainability. This exhibition will celebrate that first fair and the impact it had both locally and nationally. Supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
