Morning Campers! The British Holiday Camp

Summer's here! A nostalgic, family-friendly exhibition exploring the history of the British holiday camp. The first holiday camp appeared in 1894 on the Isle of Man; however, it was in the 1930s that Billy Butlin launched the concept of the holiday camp in a gigantic way. The holiday camp sector grew rapidly after World War II and dominated the British holiday scene through the 1950s and 1960s. This exhibition celebrates this unique British institution, and will be accompanied by holiday-related children's activities.
