Quarantine advice and support for EU and International Kingston University students

The UK government recently announced a new traffic light system for international arrivals. This means that countries and territories are listed as red, amber or green and the specific quarantine requirements depend on where you are travelling from, and where you have visited (or passed through) in the 10 days prior to arrival in the UK. The rules may be subject to change so please check the UK government website for the most up to date information.

Please read our important information about international arrivals and orientation for further guidance, including everything you'll need to know before you depart and after you arrive in the UK.

What this means for you

If you are planning to arrive from, or via, a green list country, you will not need to quarantine (self-isolate) on arrival to the UK. If you will be arriving from or via an amber or red list country, you will need to quarantine on arrival, with the strictest rules applying to red list countries, who will need to quarantine at a government approved hotel.

Kingston University will help you to settle in to your new life studying and living in the UK by offering you high quality support and advice so that you feel welcomed and supported throughout your student journey, and beyond, during the continuing pandemic.

The University will provide the following services to all international students upon their arrival in the UK:

  • If you will be travelling to Kingston or to accommodation within a radius of 5 miles of the University campus, from either Heathrow or Gatwick airports, or from St. Pancras International, you will be able to book our subsidised taxi pick-up service which will take you straight to your accommodation, whether it be on-campus or private. For more information, please see the Arrivals and Orientation page on our website.
  • An extensive range of quarantine arrival and support services, depending which red, amber or green zone country you will be travelling from to the UK.

Full details of our quarantine support and services* are listed below.

* Published goods and services are subject to availability and subject to change.
