Generally, Italian modules are year-long and run over 2 teaching blocks. Higher level students can enrol on the second part of the more advanced year-long modules.

Our Italian courses are taught face-to-face in Penrhyn Road.

At the end of the teaching block (semester) there will be two assessments: Reading and Writing and an Oral Assessment.

Italian courses offered

Italian Beginners

There is no Italian Beginners course starting in January. It will be offered again in October 2019.

Italian Complete Beginners (Part 2 of year-long course)

This course is aimed at learners who have studied Italian for 3 months. Students will join the second part of the Italian Complete Beginners course that started in October. The aim of this module is to equip students with further linguistic skills to enable them to communicate in a number of familiar work and social situations and respond accordingly; to broaden the students' awareness of aspects of the foreign culture.

Day and time:

  • Thursdays 6.00pm - 8.00pm

Duration and fees

  • 10 weeks.

Term dates:

  • Week commencing 14 January 2019 to week commencing 25 March 2019. No lessons in week commencing 11 February 2019 (10 weeks).


  • Penrhyn Road campus, Kingston University.

Course fees:

  • Kingston University students: free (you will be required to purchase the course textbook independently at the beginning of the course. Your tutor will provide details in the first class).
  • Members of the public: £225 per semester or £420 for 2 semesters
  • Kingston University alumni: £210 per semester or £400 for 2 semesters.
  • Kingston University staff: £60 per semester.
