Plan your journey to Kingston Hill campus

Kingston University, Kingston Hill, Kingston upon Thames, Surrey KT2 7LB

Located just outside the town centre, Kingston Hill can be reached easily by public transport.

Train

Trains run regularly from London Waterloo to Norbiton and Kingston stations (midweek four trains per hour, journey times 25–33 minutes). Norbiton is in Travelcard Zone 5 and Kingston in Zone 6. Visit the National Rail Enquiries website for timetables and further information.

From Norbiton station:

  • Take the train to Norbiton
  • Leave the railway station and walk through the underpass to the main station entrance
  • Exit the station and cross Coombe Road
  • Either turn right and walk along Coombe Road to take the K3 bus (this is the shortest walking route) or carry straight over and walk up Wolverton Avenue until you reach Kingston Hill. Cross Kingston Hill and turn right to take the 85 or K3 bus or the KU1 or KU3 free University intersite bus service
  • Get off at the 'Kingston University' stop
  • The Kingston Hill campus is on the other side of the road

From Kingston station:

  • Take the train to Kingston
  • Leave the railway station via the main exit
  • Cross the lights to the left on to Cromwell Road (for the bus station)
  • Take the 85 or K3 bus or the KU1 or KU3 free University intersite bus service
  • Get off at the 'Kingston University' stop
  • The Kingston Hill campus is on the other side of the road

Bus

The K3 and 85 buses run along Kingston Hill and there are bus stops directly outside the campus. Visit the Transport for London (TfL) website for further information.

London buses no longer accept cash, but you can pay using an Oyster travelcard or with a contactless credit card. More information on fares and payments can be found on the TfL buses website.

We also run a free intersite bus service for students, staff and visitors. The KU1 and KU3 buses stop on this campus.

Car

We strongly recommend visitors use the excellent public transport links instead of driving. The University has limited on-site parking facilities and prioritises staff during core working hours (Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 4.30pm). Limited visitor parking is available but must be pre-booked through the person you are visiting, as parking enforcement measures are in operation at all sites. Free car parking is available on all sites for blue badge holders and there are docking bays for electric cars.

All car park users agree to the University car parking terms and conditions.

Visitor parking during undergraduate Open Days

Please visit the undergraduate Open Days page for further information.

Cycle

Cycle parking facilities and showers are available at this site. Kingston University also has a fleet of electric, power-assisted bikes for hire to travel between the Penryhn Road and Kingston Hill campuses. Rates start at £1 a day, with membership options available for staff and students.

For further information on cycle routes around the University, visit the Cycle Kingston website.

Plane

Heathrow and Gatwick airports international airports are the closest to Kingston, with coaches, buses and trains linking the airports with the town.

Free campus shuttle bus

A free University shuttle bus will run throughout the Open Day every 20 minutes. Look out for our friendly student ambassadors in the brightly coloured tops who can help direct you.

The shuttle buses call at the following campuses and stops:

  • Kingston Hill campus - Bus stop at the top of the steps that lead down to the Business School and Frank Lampl Building.
  • Roehampton Vale campus - Bus stop, just outside the campus by the main road (A3). The bus returns to Kingston Hill, before continuing its circuit back into Kingston.
  • Penrhyn Road campus - Closest bus stop to Knights Park campus. Bus stop outside the campus.
  • Kingston town centre, on route to Penrhyn Road - Fairfield bus station (KT2 2PG). Stop B2 (near Kingston train station)
  • Kingston town centre, on route to Kingston Hill - Cromwell Road bus station (KT2 6RD). Stop A2 (around the corner from Kingston train station)

The journey between Kingston Hill and Penrhyn Road takes about 20 minutes (dependent on traffic).
