One of ways in which you can link theory and real business practice is through your MSc dissertation. This is an opportunity to undertake a substantial piece of independent work researching a real business issue concluding with recommendations that have immediately applicable managerial implications. The dissertation provides the chance to tailor your studies to an area that is particular relevant to your career aspirations.
Our Strategy into Practice seminar series gives you the opportunity to understand strategy in enterprises of all scales. Top managers will give you first-hand accounts of managing complex organisations in the UK and internationally, promoting innovation and creativity, instituting cultural change and managing growth. Speakers to date have included Lord Hastings (KPMG, BT and UNICEF), Karen Hamilton (Unilever), and Greg Dyke (former Director General of the BBC).
In each session, you will have the opportunity to ask questions and network with academic staff and local business leaders. These seminars are also open to students, alumni, staff, the business community and the wider public.
