Here you can find more details about fees for this course, as well as any funding opportunities available to you for this course. Please note that fees relate to the academic year in question and will increase in future years.

For courses that can be studied part time, the part time fees are for students entering year 1. The fees for students entering year 2 in the following year will remain the same. Fees may increase for students entering years 1 and 2 in future years.

If you require a Tier 1-5 visa to reside in the UK (this includes a Tier 4 student visa), you may not be able to enrol on a part-time programme at the University.

NB: The Equivalent Lower Qualification (ELQ) fee applies to Home/EU students who already have a qualification at the same level but in a different subject. Please contact us if you're unsure whether this applies to you.

If you are starting a course at Kingston, you will be able to apply for a loan of up to £10,000 to study for a postgraduate masters degree.

Additional costs

For this course you will be:

  • involved in processes of making as means of exploration, experimentation, and understanding your practice by using a diverse range of media and materials;
  • required to purchase your own copy of books for required reading;
  • required to produce physical artefacts for assessment; and
  • offered to participate in optional study visits and/or field trips.

However, over and above this you may incur extra costs associated with your studies, which you will need to plan for.

External Hard Drive: you will need to purchase an external hard drive that can handle high definition video, with sufficient storage and is compatible with Kingston School of Art's editing environment. Please seek advice by email from tutors or technical staff before making your selection. Indicative costs are included in the table below. You will need the drive by the second week of commencing the course - so plenty of opportunity to take advice.

In order to help you budget, the information below indicates what activities and materials are not covered by your tuition fees:

  • Personal laptops and other personal devices.
  • Personal copies of books.
  • Optional study visits and field trips.
  • Printing costs.
  • Your own chosen art materials and equipment.
  • Costs of participating at external shows and exhibitions.
  • Film production costs (students receive advice about raising funding/crowd funding etc).

The costs vary every year and with every student, but an indicative list of costs per year, not covered by your tuition fees, is as follows:
