Midwifery / Registered Midwife PgDip: Entry requirements

What you need to apply for this course

A degree at grade 2.2 or above. Health or science-related subjects preferred.

All candidates require:

GCSE at grade 4 or above (or grade C or above for GCSEs taken before 2017) in five subjects, including English Language, Mathematics and Science equivalent qualification eg Functional/Key skills level 2 in numeracy and literacy; Level 2 Applied Science. 

Non-native speakers who do not have the equivalent of GCSE English at grade 4 (formerly grade C) or an equivalent (e.g. Functional Skills Level 2 Literacy) require an Academic IELTS score of 7.0 or equivalent overall and at least 6.5 in the writing section and at least 7 in the reading, listening and speaking sections.

Other entry requirements:

Admission to the programme is subject to the criteria set by the NMC and NHS. All programmes and numbers of places are commissioned by the local Strategic Health Authority, NHS London. Wherever possible candidates are encouraged to gain practical work experience in a care setting prior to undertaking the programme and should demonstrate evidence of study within previous five years.

Our selection process includes an interview, occupational health clearance and a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
