Faculty of Health, Science, Social Care and Education

The Faculty of Health, Science, Social Care and Education brings together courses in science, education, health and social work at our Kingston Hill campus and Penrhyn Road campus.

All courses combine essential practical experience with your university education. Depending on your course, you could spend up to half your learning time on practice placements.

Our health, science, social work and education students benefit from our practising experts, an extended community and opportunities to network with professional bodies, schools, local authorities and companies.

You will also use virtual environments and simulated scenarios to gain the skills you need to put your knowledge into practice.

Our facilities include a Social Work Practice Learning Suite which is purpose-built for students to learn and practise key skills. State-of-the-art nursing and midwifery skills labs and simulation suites replicate a hospital ward, GP practice and birthing room.

Education students benefit from over 100 years of experience in the education and training of teachers, as well as facilities for practising lessons before taking them into school.

Professor of Social Work

“Kingston University is one of the few universities in the country that requires students to work at two separate trusts for their practical placements. This makes the experience and exposure to midwifery work more varied.”
