We are offering free places on an architectural drawing summer school taking place from Thursday 24 August to Tuesday 29 August 2023. This residential opportunity is for Year 11 and Year 12 students (or equivalent) and takes place in Somerset.
The summer school has been offering a unique, fully-funded opportunity to students since 2016 and has been widely praised by attendees as providing an unrivalled insight into architecture and associated professions. We welcome applications from students with a keen interest in the visual environment, an inquisitive attitude and a positive approach to learning. The programme introduces students to architecture through a wide range of activities including drawing, discussion, practical experimentation and collaborative learning, with exercises set by leading thinkers in architectural education today.
Accommodation and catering is provided by Sherborne International School; the workshops will take place in the local area. Funding to cover public transport costs may be available.
The summer school is organised and funded by Drawing Matter, Hauser & Wirth Somerset, Kingston School of Art and Sherbourne International, with thanks to partner universities and sponsors.
You will need to complete and submit both the student and parent application forms and we ask you to digitally submit a maximum of four images demonstrating your work to k.ewing@kingston.ac.uk to support your application form – this can be sketches, drawings, models, paintings, etc.
Please note you must submit your images along side your application form to be considered for the summer school. Application forms without images will be rejected.
To apply please submit both forms and your images before the deadline of 5pm on Monday 15 May 2023:
