About

I am a Senior Lecturer within the Faculty of Health, Science, Social Care and Education at Kingston University. I am also the Course Director for MSc Healthcare Practice and module leader for the Perioperative modules. As a registered nurse I have many years of experience working in theatres, predominantly anaesthetics and I am still currently practising. I teach on both the Perioperative modules and Foundation degree for nursing associates and supervise MSc students on their research projects.

Teaching and learning

I have experience in the development and design of curriculum and courses and have participated in external and internal validation of courses, including leading on the revalidation of the MSc Healthcare Practice Programme in 2019.

Undergraduate courses taught

Research

I am currently undertaking a PhD study. I have collaborated with international colleagues on a research study with a small group of international students on their experience of a 10-day workshop on patient safety in Hiroshima, Japan in 2018. 

As part of my MSc study, I undertook a mixed methods study exploring the role of the Associate Practitioners and its impact on practice area. My study was subsequently presented at a World Nursing Conference in 2014 in Singapore and also at the Faculty conference.
