I am a South African qualified, SWE registered Social Worker with a background in generic and children and families' work. I also have an MA in Professional Education and Training and a PGC in Teaching in HE and the GSCC Practice Teacher Award (PEPS2 equivalent). I have teaching responsibility for the Practice Education programme at Kingston University and am involved in many other activities to support practice learning in our region, such as On-Site Supervisor development programme, supporting Practice Assessors of trainee Practice Educators and supporting the development of experienced Practice Educators to become Practice Assessors.
For 3 years I was co-Lead Chief Assessor for NAAS and am currently a Sub-Regional Assessor on the Integrated Social Work Apprenticeship Degree, so support and assess employment based learners. I recently spent a period of secondment as a PE Consultant within the Developing Together Teaching Partnership, focusing on developing workshops and resources to support Practice Educators and On-Site Supervisors in practice. I have a particular interest in professional supervision and development at all levels.
