Ms Sally Greig

About

I have been a Personal Tutor for MSW and BA Social Work students, on a part time basis, since October 2019.I have extensive social work experience spanning nearly thirty years, both in Local Authority, NHS and charity work.  I supported the development and success of the ASYE Academy in Surrey, as well as a long career in Hounslow as a social worker, manager, service manager and Chair. I have worked in safeguarding children training for the NHS Surrey and Borders and more recently supporting bereaved families for a charitable organisation. I qualified as a Social Worker in 1994 (Brunel) achieving a Diploma in Social Work alongside an MSW in Applied Social Studies. I am particularly interested in supporting students to prepare for the challenges of social work practice and to encourage attention to wellbeing and resilience. I was delighted to receive a 'Personal Tutor Award' in 2021 (as voted for by students) as this reflected the importance of supporting students to do well and to enjoy their experience, whilst managing the challenges that social work brings.
