Senior Lecturer in English for Academic Purposes & Applied Linguistics

About

I work in the fields of English for Academic Purposes and Applied Linguistics. I have designed and taught on a wide range of EAP programmes in higher education including Foundation, Pre-sessional, Insessional and short courses. As part of the English for Academic and Professional Development (EAPD) team at Kingston, I coordinate courses in academic communication skills and language that we offer to all students across the university to support their study and employability. I am also a module leader on the MA Applied Linguistics for TESOL for modules in Teaching language for specific purposes and the CELTA Pathway's reflective dissertation. I also teach on the Discourse Analysis module and qualitative research methods. I am currently studying for a PhD in Applied Linguistics at Lancaster University.

I am currently researching connections between policy discourses and learning, teaching & assessment practices in higher education from a discourse analysis perspective.
