Professor Lindsay Bearne

About

Professor Lindsay Bearne joined the Joint Faculty of Health, Social Care and Education in 2021.

Lindsay is a registered physiotherapist and has a background in physical activity, rehabilitation, and self-management research. Her research focuses on the consequences and rehabilitation of people with long term conditions (rheumatic, musculoskeletal and vascular disease), and the translation of evidence into practice.

Lindsay's education portfolio is centred on postgraduate research supervision and she actively supports allied health professional research capability and capacity building. She is keen to hear from prospective postgraduate and doctoral students in her areas of interest.

Alongside this, Lindsay is a Senior Research Fellow (knowledge mobilisation) at the National Institute of Health and Care Research (NIHR), Associate Editor for Rheumatology Advances in Practice and member of the NIHR Predoctoral Clinical Academic Fellowship selection committee.
