I am the University's Head of Degree Apprenticeships, based within the Directorate of Research, Business and Innovation. I am responsible for the strategic leadership and development of the University's Apprenticeship portfolio. In addition to this substantive role, I am SEC Faculty transnational educational (TNE) lead with responsibility for strategic liaison and development of a collaborative partnership in Sri Lanka.
I am also Professor of Civil Engineering, a Chartered Engineer (CEng), Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers, and Fellow of the Institute of Materials, Minerals & Mining.
I am a member of the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education (IfATE) Construction Route Panel; Institution of Civil Engineers Academic Qualifications Panel; Joint Board of Moderators (JBM) Accreditation panel and a member of the JBM Sub-Committee.
Prior to taking up my current role, I held a number of leadership and management positions at Kingston University; as the Head of School (2006 - 2018), Faculty Lead for International Relations & Engagement (2012 - 2015), and Director of Engineering Research (2008 - 2011). I have a passion for developing and promoting business engagement that offer creative solutions to address knowledge and skills gaps.
