Winsome Pinnock

About

I am a playwright, dramaturg and academic.  My play "Rockets and Blue Lights" won the Alfred Fagon Award for best new play, 2018. Other awards include The Pearson Plays on Stage Award, The George Devine Award, The Unity Trust Theatre Award and a Special Commendation from the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize.  My plays have been produced by the Royal National Theatre, Royal Court Theatre, Lyric Theatre, Hammersmith, Soho Theatre, The Tricycle Theatre, The Bush Theatre, Magic Theatre San Francisco and the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles. Current commissions include The Bush Theatre, The Royal Court Theatre, Blueprint Pictures and BBC Radio 4. My play Leave Taking was revived to critical acclaim in June 2018 and will be broadcast on BBC Radio 3 in 2019.  Rockets and Blue Lights will be produced by Manchester Royal Exchange in 2019/20 and One Under will be revived by Graeae Theatre Company in 2019.
