Aerospace Engineering BSc(Hons): Entry requirements

Entry requirements for 2019

Typical offer

  • A Levels: 96 points from three A Levels to include a Maths and Science subject. General studies and Native Language are not included in tariff points. 
  • BTEC National: Extended Diploma or Diploma: In Engineering or related subject (Aerospace/Aeronautical/Electrical/Electronic/Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering considered) – 112 points.
  • Access to HE in a suitable Engineering subject considered: Equivalent of 96 points with all Maths and Science modules at Level 3 passed with Merit grades.
  • GCSE: Candidates are normally required to hold five GCSE subjects grades A*-C including Mathematics and English Language (or comparable numeric score under the newly reformed GCSE grading).

Other entry routes 

  • Engineering foundation year.
  • We will consider a range of alternative qualifications or experience that are equivalent to those listed above. Applications from international students with equivalent qualifications are welcome. Please contact us for details.

Interviews, entrance tests, auditions and portfolios

Entry on to this course does not require an interview, entrance test, audition or portfolio.

If you don't meet the above entry requirements our International Foundation Year can prepare you for entry progression onto this degree course.

English language requirements

All non-UK applicants must meet our English language requirements. For this course it is Academic IELTS of 6.0 overall, with no element below 5.5. Please make sure you read our full guidance about English language requirements, which includes details of other qualifications we'll consider.

Applicants who do not meet the English language requirements may be eligible to join our pre-sessional English language course.

Applicants from one of the recognised Majority English Speaking Countries (MESCs) do not need to meet these requirements.
