Entry requirements for 2019

Typical offer

  • Points: 32
  • Units: to include one A-level or equivalent
  • General Studies A-level/AS-level not accepted
  • Key Skills accepted in tariff point requirements


  • GCSE: candidates are normally required to hold five GCSE subjects A*–C Mathematics and English Language (or comparable numeric score under newly reformed GCSE gradings)
  • Key Skills Application of Numbers and Communication Level 2 accepted in place of GCSE Mathematics and English Language.

Other entry routes

We will consider a range of alternative qualifications that are equivalent to the typical offer. Applications from international students with equivalent qualifications are welcome. Please contact us for details.

Interviews, entrance tests, auditions and portfolios

Entry on to this course does not require an interview, entrance test, audition or portfolio.

English language requirements

In addition, all non-UK applicants must meet our English language requirements. For this course, it is 6.0 Academic IELTS with special conditions in all elements.

Applicants who do not meet the English language requirements may be eligible to join our pre-sessional English language course.

Applicants from one of the recognised majority English speaking countries (MESCs) do not need to meet these requirements.
