Construction Management BSc(Hons): Entry requirements

Entry requirements for 2018

Typical offer

  • 96 UCAS points: to include at least two A-levels (Maths or Science subject preferred)
    • General studies at A-level or AS-level counted at half points
    • Native language at A-level only counted in addition to the two A-levels subjects
  • BTEC Extended Diploma (MMM) or BTEC National Diploma (DD)
  • International Baccalaureate
    • 24 points including English Language (A1/A2) or English Language-Literature at higher level (grade 4) or standard level (grade 5)
  • Pass Access to HE Diploma in Engineering, Science, Business or Maths subject – Pass with 60 credits overall: 45 credits at level 3 and 15 credits at level 2.

Entry to Level 2: BTEC Higher National Diploma or Certificate in a related subject.

Plus GCSE Candidates are normally required to hold five GCSE subjects grades A-C including Mathematics and English Language (or comparable numeric score under the newly reformed GCSE grading).

Other entry routes

  • Engineering foundation course.
  • We will consider a range of alternative qualifications or experience that are equivalent to the typical offer. Applications from international students with equivalent qualifications are welcome. Please contact us for details.

  • Pass Access to HE Diploma in Engineering, Science, Business or Maths subject – Equivalent of 96 UCAS points.

Entry to Year 2: BTEC Higher National Diploma or Certificate in a related subject.

GCSE: candidates are normally required to hold five GCSE subjects grades A*C (or comparable numeric score under the newly reformed GCSE gradings): including English Language and Mathematics, or Level 2 in Key Skills Communication and/or Application of Number and Level 2 Functional Skills in Mathematics and/or English.

  • Engineering foundation course.

Interviews, entrance tests, auditions and portfolios

Entry on to this course does not require an interview, entrance test, audition or portfolio.

If you don't meet the above entry requirements our International Foundation Year can prepare you for entry progression onto this degree course.

English language requirements

All non-UK applicants must meet our English language requirements. For this course it is Academic IELTS of 6.0 overall, with no element below 5.5. Please make sure you read our full guidance about English language requirements, which includes details of other qualifications we'll consider.

Applicants who do not meet the English language requirements may be eligible to join our pre-sessional English language course.

Applicants from one of the recognised Majority English Speaking Countries (MESCs) do not need to meet these requirements.
