Entry requirements for 2018

Typical offer

The minimum entry qualifications for the programme are:

From A levels: 112 points, General Studies not accepted OR

BTEC National: 112 points: Distinction, Merit, Merit OR

Access Diploma: 60 credits overall 45 at level 3 the remainder from level 3 or level 2 OR
Computing Foundation Year

Plus: GCSE Candidates are normally required to hold five GCSE subjects grades A-C including Mathematics and English Language (or comparable numeric score under the newly reformed GCSE grading).

A minimum overall IELTS score of 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 each element, iBT TOEFL 80 with R at 20, L at 19, S at 21 and W at 20 or equivalent is required for those for whom English is not their first language.

Transfer from a similar programme is possible at level 5 with passes in comparable level 4 modules - but is at the discretion of the course team. Direct entry into level 6 is not permitted.

If you don't meet the above entry requirements our International Foundation Year can prepare you for entry progression onto this degree course.

Computing Foundation Year

GCSE: candidates are normally required to hold five GCSE subjects grades A* C (or comparable numeric score under the newly  reformed GCSE grading): inc. English Language and Mathematics

A minimum overall IELTS score of 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 each element, iBT TOEFL 80 with R at 20, L at 19, S at 21 and W at 20 or equivalent is required for those for whom English is not their first language.

Interviews, entrance tests, auditions and portfolios

Entry on to this course does not require an interview, entrance test, audition or portfolio.

English language requirements

All non-UK applicants must meet our English language requirements. For this course it is Academic IELTS of 6.0 overall, with no element below 5.5. Please make sure you read our full guidance about English language requirements, which includes details of other qualifications we'll consider.

Applicants who do not meet the English language requirements may be eligible to join our pre-sessional English language course.

Applicants from one of the recognised Majority English Speaking Countries (MESCs) do not need to meet these requirements.
