What this course offers you

  • This course received 94.7 per cent student satisfaction with drama learning resources in NSS 2017.
  • The course will focus on scriptwriting for radio, stage, television and film, and you will also have the opportunity to explore other genres such as lifewriting, song writing, poetry and prose fiction.
  • The creative writing teaching team includes published and award winning authors including Academy Award nominated scriptwriter and novelist Hanif Kureishi, playwright and novelist Paul Bailey and playwright Winsome Pinnock.
  • Drama at Kingston consists of a team of academics with expertise in a range of subjects including devising and theatre making, differing modes of popular performance, acting techniques, Shakespeare, digital performance, applied theatre, and contemporary British theatre and performance.
  • You'll perform in public, via our connections with Kingston's Rose Theatre and the International Youth Arts Festival.
  • You'll be exposed to cutting edge methods and techniques, and acquire the most current practical knowledge through masterclasses and workshops from practitioners and experts in their fields.
  • Placements: In your final year, you will take a workplace module Applied Theatre.
