What this course offers you

  • This course will prepare you to achieve the requirements of the Nursing and Midwifery Council and European Midwives' Directives.
  • The course comprises at least 50 per cent practice-based learning and a minimum of 40 per cent theory.
  • Anatomy includes learning with dissected cadaveric material (real bodies that have been generously donated to science). This is a unique learning opportunity provided by the University and makes up 10 per cent of first year teaching.
  • You will get the opportunity to work alongside experienced midwives and other healthcare professionals in supporting women and their families through their childbearing experience.
  • Studying in the joint Health, Social Care and Education faculties includes interprofessional learning with other health professions.
  • You will be working on the front line of the NHS providing midwifery care to a diverse population in South West London and Surrey.
