Photography BA(Hons): Student achievements

Success stories

Current student Samuel Pont exhibited work in the AOP Open Awards (2017). Final year student Michelle Ngai worked as a photography assistant at Red Dog Studio, Hong Kong (2018) assisting on shoots for clients such as Lancome. Pierro Pozella graduated in 2018 and has gone onto postgraduate study at the Royal College of Art and also work with the Camera Museum as a photo technician. Tom Byrne is a studio photographer with the Seventy7 advertising group. Jay Russell has assisted artists including Alison Jackson as well as continuing his own practice, being published by Dazed and producing music videos for artists such as Lurker.

Recent graduates Esther Sanchez and Kyung Min Kim both exhibited as part of the UrbanPhotoFest 2017. Esther was also published in Urbiquity's Mediating Space – Cartographies of Madrid and Talinn publication and she currently works as studio manager for photographer Isabel Munoz in Spain. Gabriella Martinez worked as the communications manager for the Lumen Prize and continued with postgraduate study. Austin Farahar is a photographica specialist at Chiswick Auctions having previously worked as a professional photographer for antiquarian booksellers in London for several years.

Work by graduate Inge JacobsenPast graduate, Inge Jacobsen had her work exhibited as part of the prestigious Royal Academy of Arts summer exhibition in 2018. She has also won the 'Directors' Purchase Award' at the Cork Street Open Exhibition and her work has been published, commissioned by Vogue, Dazed, GQ, i-D, American Express, Georg Jensen, NYLON Japan and Petronio Associates, amongst others.

Credit: Sophie Harris-TaylorIn addition, past graduate Sophie Harris-Taylor has gone onto make a very successful career as a fine art and portrait photographer being represented by Francesca Maffeo Gallery and publishing photo books including Sisters (Hoxton Mini-Press 2018 and MTWTFSS: Chapters 1&2.
