Head Start 2020

There are lots of exciting activities planned for our Head Start 2020 events. We will be delivering a mixture of 3-day and 1-day events over the summer to allow all applicants the best possible opportunity to attend Head Start.

Dates for Head Start 2020 will be announced in due course, in the meantime please take a look at what to expect from attending Head Start.


What will happen at Head Start 2020

Here's just a taste of what will happen at Head Start:

  • Meet current students and find out what it's really like to study at Kingston University.
  • Make new friends with other people who will also be new to Kingston University.
  • Become familiar with Kingston University and the surrounding area on our campus tours.
  • Take part in an exclusive question panel with key groups from the university; including Accommodation, Health and Wellbeing and Money Advice teams.
  • Useful advice sessions about managing your own budget, and finding part-time work and placements.
  • Meet the Union of Kingston Students to find out how to get involved in clubs and societies.
  • Exclusive workshops for mature learners and mental health, disability and dyslexia support.
  • Learn about our learning resource centres (LRCs).
  • An opportunity to experience what it's like to stay in university accommodation.

3-day Head Start 2020 events

Our Head Start 3-day events are designed to give you a detailed understanding about studying at Kingston University. This is a great opportunity to prepare you for life as an undergraduate student and receive lots of invaluable tips, advice and guidance delivered by members of staff from key areas of the university. You will also be able to meet current students who will give you an insight into student life from their perspective. By attending Head Start you will feel more confident and better prepared to start your course  

Attendees who choose to come to our 3-day events will be offered free accommodation in our Seething Wells halls of residence for either two or three nights. In order to stay in halls of residence you must be aged 18 or over. However, if you would prefer to attend the events as a day delegate then this is also possible.

1-day Head Start Express 2020 events

Head Start Express is a condensed version of our Head Start 3-day events, designed for those who are unable to commit to the 3-day programme, and for those coming to Kingston University via Clearing.

Head Start Mature Learner Preparation 2020 event

All of our Head Start events are applicable to incoming students of all ages.  However, if you are coming to Kingston University as a mature learner (aged 21 or over on 1 September before the start of your course) you may prefer to attend this exclusive preparation day.
