Study mechanical engineering

If you're looking to jump start your career within the automotive industry, then our mechanical engineering degrees are ideal. Our courses focus on the design, testing and development of vehicles and components, from concept through to production.

You'll have access to the latest technology and industry standard equipment, such as a 3D design studio, a mechanical engineering workshop, automotive testing facilities, two large-scale wind tunnels and a range of cars and motorcycles.

As well as developing your practical engineering skills, you'll gain a strong base in business, management and project planning to help you stand out at future job interviews. You'll also have the opportunity to join special student led project groups such as the Formula Student and Caterham Car projects. It's a great chance to apply theory to a real workplace project, enjoy the thrills of appearing at a major racing circuit - and have something amazing to add to your CV.

The MEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering fully meets the exemplifying academic benchmark requirements for registration as a Chartered Engineer (CEng). The BEng (Hons) meets these requirements in part. Our BEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering also meets the exemplifying academic benchmark requirements for registration as an Incorporated Engineer (IEng).
