We're ranked No.4 in London for biosciences (Guardian league table 2022) and our forensic science course received 100 per cent overall student satisfaction (National Student Survey 2020).

Our biological science courses cover a diverse range of subjects, and you have the option to choose to study human, medical or genetics and molecular biology depending on your interests. You'll develop extensive practical skills using our high-tech equipment, labs and facilities, which are designed to give you the experience of working in industry standard settings.

Our biochemistry and biomedical science degrees cover a huge range of topics, such as cancer screening, chemotherapy, haematology, diagnosing HIV, blood transfusion, the control of infections, immunology and conditions such as cancer and heart disease. If you enjoy laboratory investigation our courses are ideal.

Our forensic science students have access to the scene of the crime house, which allows students to gain real-world practical experience using both specialist equipment and precise techniques to obtain and preserve samples and evidence from the scene of a crime. The facilities five rooms contain mock crime scenes, including burglary, arson, assault and sexual crime. Our environmental science students have the opportunity to apply their studies to real-life situations, through field work in the UK and overseas.

Our courses are accredited or recognised by different professional bodies including the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS), the Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences, the Royal Society of Biology, the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) and the Royal Society of Chemistry, which will increase your employability upon graduating.
