Our commitment to high quality teaching has been recognised with a TEF Gold rating. The University has received an overall rating of Gold, as well as securing a Gold award in the framework's two new student experience and student outcomes categories.
Our social work courses are accredited by Social Work England, meaning once you graduate you can apply to register with Social Work England so you can start your career as a qualified social worker.
We have a wide range of placement opportunities throughout south-west London and Surrey including child care, youth justice, mental health, vulnerable adults settings, schools, drugs and substance misuse services.
This degree will prepare you for professional opportunities in settings such as health, social care, education and youth justice. Through work placements of your choosing, you'll apply your learning in real practice settings to make a difference to young people's lives.
This course will introduce social pedagogy, an inclusive and holistic approach to wellbeing, learning and growth. It's endorsed by the Social Pedagogy Professional Association (SPPA), and you will graduate with the title of Social Pedagogy Practitioner.
Our skills lab is a purpose-built facility where social work students have the opportunity to learn and practise key social work skills.
The skills lab allows you to develop your assessment and intervention skills and other skills such as mentoring, teaching and providing reflective supervision in a real-life setting. It has been designed to be a multi-functional space which can be changed according to the simulated activities required.
Embedded within every course curriculum and throughout the whole Kingston experience, Future Skills will play a role in shaping you to become a future-proof graduate, providing you with the skills most valued by employers such as problem-solving, digital competency, and adaptability.
As you progress through your degree, you'll learn to navigate, explore and apply these graduate skills, learning to demonstrate and articulate to employers how future skills give you the edge.
At Kingston University, we're not just keeping up with change, we're creating it.
