UCAS and higher education fairs

Our staff and current students attend a number of fairs across the UK and Ireland. This means you have the opportunity to meet us online, and hopefully in person, around the country.

Meet us in your country

When we can, we visit countries around the world, attending educational fairs and working with our overseas representatives and institutional partners. Stay up to date with where we'll be visiting, as well as the webinars and webchats we'll be holding on our website.

Entry requirements

We're committed to ensuring higher education is accessible to everyone who can benefit from it and we're proud to champion alternative routes into university.

When assessing applications, we're looking for evidence of your ability, potential, and passion for your subject area. We not only look at your formal educational achievements, but also at the skills and experience you have in order to evaluate your suitability for a course.

How to apply

Ready to join us? Awesome!

For each of our undergraduate courses, you apply online through the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) at ucas.com.

The UCAS code for Kingston University is K84.

A bolder, brighter, better personal statement

Our step-by-step guide will help you through each step of writing a personal statement; from finding out how to begin, to adding those finishing touches that'll make it stand out.

Commuting to Kingston?

Over 50% of our students commute to us, so rest assured you're not alone.

With our well-connected campuses and tailored facilities, we're well prepared to ensure you enjoy university life to the full.

Your home away from home

Where you live whilst you're at university can play an important part in your overall experience. Whether you'd like to live on or off campus, we're here to help you feel at home.

Welcome home

We have 2,000+ rooms available, taking into account all tastes and budgets. Better still, we guarantee an offer of accommodation to all our first year undergraduate students who have firmly accepted an offer from us.

What's new for 2022?

Three of our halls of residence are undergoing a huge glow up and we think you'll love the finished results.

City living

Some of our students decide to live independently in the local area rather than living on campus.

Our dedicated KU Student Homes website will help you find all the latest vacancies in local rented accommodation, from single rooms to full houses and flat shares.

Shall we talk about money?

All students are required to pay tuition fees, which cover the key elements of teaching, assessment and operating university facilities such as the library, IT equipment and support services.

There may be extra costs which are not covered by tuition fees. These may include optional field trips, materials, specialist clothing or professional memberships. Where a course has additional expenses, we make every effort to highlight them on the course pages on our website.

Bursaries

We want to ensure anyone with potential and drive has the opportunity to study with us, no matter what their background or financial situation. That's why each year, we provide a number of bursaries to support our undergraduate students gain their degree.

The Kingston Bursary

We have 400 bursaries of £2,000 each available to students studying in their first year with us. This is money given to you from the university that you can use to support your studies and pay for things such as books, food and travel costs.

KU Cares bursaries

We provide a comprehensive package of support for care leavers, estranged students, young adult carers and sanctuary scholars. Our package includes financial support, advocacy and access to internal and external opportunities.

You're in for a warm welcome

Starting university is a new experience that can be both an exciting and nervous time, but we have lots on offer that'll help you thrive in your transition to university.

Get a Head Start

Our free Head Start programme will help you feel more confident and prepared about starting university. Taking place over the summer before you arrive, it's available in a variety of formats to suit your needs and has been described as a ‘game changer' by students who have attended.

Welcome and Induction

Finding your feet.

We dedicate the whole week before formal teaching begins to your Welcome and Induction. It's designed to help you settle in, make connections and start your course feeling confident and ready to succeed.

“I chose Kingston because of the Head Start programme. Everyone there was friendly and welcoming, and I got to know what exceptional support there was on offer to me to ensure I succeeded.”
