Health, Science, Social Care and Education

The Faculty of Health, Science, Social Care and Education brings together courses in science, education, health and social work at our Kingston Hill campus and Penrhyn Road campus.

All courses combine essential practical experience with your university education. Depending on your course, you could spend up to half your learning time on practice placements.

Our health, science, social work and education students benefit from our practising experts, an extended community and opportunities to network with professional bodies, schools, local authorities and companies.

Links with industry

Our strong contacts with industry and close links with key accrediting bodies provide pathways to full professional status. Each of our courses is rooted in the needs of the industry and designed to give you the skills you need to make a difference.

Practical experience

You will use virtual environments and simulated scenarios to hone your skills by putting your knowledge into practice. The facilities are purposely designed to meet the learning needs of a range of practice-orientated professionals.

Our facilities

Our facilities include a Social Work Practice Learning Suite which is purpose-built for students to learn and practise key skills. State-of-the-art nursing and midwifery skills labs and simulation suites replicate a hospital ward, GP practice and birthing room.

Education students benefit from over 100 years of experience in the education and training of teachers, as well as facilities for practising lessons before taking them into school.

League table rankings

We excel in teaching nursing and midwifery. We're leading London in midwifery, children's nursing and mental health nursing. Our mental health nursing is ranked second and children's nursing is ranked fifth in the UK.
