Information for students starting an MBA at Kingston Business School in January 2023

Your welcome and induction

Hurray! You're undertaking the Master of Business Administration (MBA) and joining the Kingston Business School in the Faculty of Business and Social Sciences (FBSS). Below you'll find everything you need to know about welcome and induction*.

Arrival and enrolment

  • You must have arrived and be attending on campus from Thursday 12 January.
  • You must have fully enrolled and have checked in (if applicable) by Friday 13 JanuaryRead more about enrolment.

Course induction

  • Your mandatory course induction will take place on Thursday 12 January. Search for your course induction schedule on the Kingston app available in the app store.

Course start date and your teaching timetable

  • Teaching starts for your course during the week commencing 16 January 2023. Your teaching timetable will be available 48 hours (Monday-Friday) after completion of your online enrolment. You can view your teaching timetable online or via the KU App.

Other welcome and induction activity

Welcome events programme

The Welcome Programme runs alongside your course induction and will:

  • introduce you to some of the opportunities you'll have as a Kingston student,
  • help you settle into life at Kingston,
  • give you the opportunity to meet new friends and have some fun!

You will be able to book onto the various events once you complete your online enrolment.

Welcome Help Points

Our on-campus Welcome Help point should be your first stop if you have questions or are not sure where to go.

You will find a wonderful bunch of friendly Student Ambassadors who will be ready to give you directions, answer your questions (or just have a chat!)

Open from 09.00 to 16:30 on Thursday 12 and Friday 13 January, your Welcome Help points are located at:

Campus tours

To get you acquainted with the Kingston Hill campus, campus tours will run on the following dates:

  • Thursday 12 January 15:00
  • Friday 13 January 11:00

Tours start from the Welcome Help Point (outside the Business School).

There is no sign-up required, but numbers for each tour will be capped at a maximum of 12 people (allocated on a first-come basis).

Welcome to Kingston online module

Our Welcome to Kingston online module will give you an introduction to the support services available should you need it.

You can access the online module on Canvas, our virtual online learning environment, once you have completed your online enrolment.

The module is on-demand so you can access it at your own pace and at whatever time of day suits you.

Once you log into Canvas you'll see the link to the module on your dashboard.

Collect your freebie pack

We've got FREE Welcome to Kingston Starter packs which can be picked up during welcome and induction. 

Your Starter Pack contains:

  • reusable canvas bag (designed by a KU student),
  • notebook,
  • pen,
  • reusable coffee cup,
  • other useful stuff to get you started.
