Remember that any electrical items you bring with you must be new or portable appliance tested. Tabletop/mini fridges are permitted in all rooms other than our Clayhill halls of residence. Maximum dimensions are 515mm high, 500mm wide, and 500mm deep. A full-size fridge (anything larger than the dimensions stated) is not permitted in your room.
You must not use your own kettle, toaster or any other cooking equipment in your bedroom. Every kitchen is fully equipped. We will remove unauthorised items and return them at the end of term. Read more about use of eletrical equipment.
Each hall has its own launderette on site, including coin-operated washing machines and tumble dryers. Two £1 coins are required for the washing machines, and 20p coins for the tumble dryers and soap powder machine. Please note that change for these machines is not available at reception.
If you experience any problems with your washing, please contact reception who will try to assist you. The last wash is at 9.30pm. Please do not leave items unattended.
Student possessions insurance has been provided through Endsleigh for every student who is living at our student residences for the 2014–15 academic year.
This covers a range of belongings in your room, including laptops, sports and electrical equipment, clothes and frozen food. This has been arranged by Kingston University at no extra cost to students.
You can download the Insurance certificate for the 2014/15 academic year (PDF). All claims will be handled directly by Endsleigh.
Need more cover?
Laptops, tablets and phones are not covered outside of your room so you may wish to consider taking out additional cover to protect your essential gadgets and other possessions.
