Payment FAQs
Here are the answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about Kingston University related online payments.
If you are not actively studying at the University due to being suspended, withdrawn or having completed your course, you will not be able to access the Payment Portal with your University credentials.
You can instead access your account to view your balance and make payment here.
The first time you do this you will need to select the option to ‘create new account’ . You must set up your new account with a personal email address, NOT your University email.
When you log into the Payment Portal there is an option listed in the quick links on the right of the landing page to set up an Authorised User.
This enables you to provide access for someone to log in and make a payment towards your account.
There are no additional charges for paying by card or through instalments.
The ID number required to pay online is the same as your student number. It consists of 7 numbers and can be found on correspondence sent to you by the University.
Both your tuition and accommodation fees can be paid by instalment provided you have set up a payment plan within the Kingston University Payment Portal. This will become available for you to set up before enrolment opens.
Please note, you will need to set up a separate payment plan for both tuition and accommodation fees.
More information on how to make payment and set up a payment plan will be provided in the Money Matters Guide for 2025/26.
If you have failed to pay an instalment, you are required to pay the overdue balance online immediately.
Your current balance and transaction history can be viewed in the University Payment Portal.
An Invoice is a document used to record a transaction for any fees and costs which are due to be paid to the University.
A Credit Note is a is document issued to reduce the amount owed on an invoice. It is typically used when an adjustment has been made to an invoice that has already been raised. A credit note serves as an adjustment to the invoice to ensure accurate financial records.
