Enrolment

Online enrolment will open in September 2026. You'll receive an email from our enrolment team requesting you to complete your online enrolment. Please complete this as soon as you can. You'll complete your online enrolment on OSIS, our Online Student Information System.

You'll be asked to complete an online form to provide information including:

• Your personal details - including your named emergency contact.
• Your term-time address - If you do not know your term-time address because you’ll be living in our halls of residence, please don’t worry about completing this part. Your term time address will be auto-populated once your room has been allocated.
• How you intend to pay your course fees - for example by student loan.
• Any additional qualifications you have but haven’t given to us - such as Functional Skills or a music qualification. We’d particularly like you to upload any qualifications that carry additional UCAS points, such as Access to HE, A Level, BTEC, T Levels that we’ve not yet received from UCAS.
• Our student regulations. This is the contract you’re entering into with the University and it covers our student code of conduct that all students are required to sign up to. These regulations explain things such as your commitment to paying fees, your right to cancel your place and the timeframe you would need to do this within.

After you've completed your online enrolment, a member of the enrolment team will check and verify your identity by checking your identity document against your uploaded ID card photo.

Acceptable ID for identity check

As part of your enrolment, you must present an original form of photographic identification to verify your identity. The type of ID you need may vary depending on whether you are assessed as having Home or Overseas fee status.

Preferred form of ID: a passport

We strongly encourage all students – particularly those with Home fee status – to present a passport wherever possible. This is the most reliable way for us to confirm your identity and right to study (RTS) in the UK.

Note: Your UK passport does not need to be in date for identity purposes. If it's expired, we may still be able to accept it, depending on how recently it expired and whether it clearly confirms your identity and citizenship.

Students with Home Fee Status

While a passport is preferred, we may accept one of the following if a passport is not available:

• UK photographic driving licence
• Republic of Ireland (ROI) passport
• Overseas passport
• EU or EEA national identity card
• EU / EEA photographic driving licence
• Kingston University ID card (returning students only)
• Proof of Age Standards Scheme (PASS) card with a unique reference number
• Armed Forces identity card
• Northern Ireland electoral identity card
• UK Biometric Residence Permit (BRP)
• US passport card

Please be aware that some of the above documents may not fully confirm your right to study, and additional checks may be required.

Students with Overseas Fee Status

You must provide one of the following:

• Valid overseas passport
• UK passport
• Republic of Ireland (ROI) passport
• Official Home Office correspondence confirming your passport is currently held by UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI)

If you can’t provide any of the above

If you don’t currently have any of the accepted forms of ID, or your document is expired, please contact the Enrolment Team as soon as possible. We may be able to advise on alternative options or supporting documentation.

During your online enrolment, you'll be asked to confirm how you intend to pay your tuition fees.

Before we can confirm you've completed your enrolment, the University will do a finance check. A member of the team will be in touch if there are any questions.

International students and all postgraduate students are required to attend a compulsory physical check-in appointment when they arrive on campus.

Once you have successfully completed online enrolment, you'll receive an email from our admissions team inviting you to book your check-in appointment.

Once you’ve completed your enrolment, you’ll receive an email with details of when and where you can collect your official Kingston University student ID card.

ID cards can be collected from Enrolment in the Information Centre located at:

• The Nightingale Centre at Kingston Hill
• The Town House at Penrhyn Road

You’ll be invited via email to book an appointment to collect your ID card. However, if you're in the area, you’re also welcome to visit one of our hubs directly. Our staff will be happy to assist you with collecting your ID card and completing any outstanding enrolment tasks.

If your ID card collection time clashes with your course induction, please prioritise attending your course induction. You’ll still be able to collect your ID card at another time.

You’ll be contacted via email in September and asked to complete your online enrolment.

You set your own password for OSIS and Kingston University. If you have not yet set your password, or if you need to reset it, you can do this online. 

Set or change your password

Welcome Week starts Monday 21 September, but the exact date you’ll need to be on campus will depend on your individual welcome timetable.

Once you’ve completed your enrolment, you’ll receive an email with details of when and where you can collect your official Kingston University student ID card.

If you’d like to change your ID card image you need to contact our IT Service Desk to have the image removed so you can upload another image.
